In such a case this form must be duly filled and sent to the Secretary of State Vehicle Services Department to ensure that the vehicle is no more you’re responsibility. In exact words, it also says that “Completion of this form does not satisfy the transfer of ownership requirements set forth in the Illinois Compiled Statutes. Illinois law requires the owner of a vehicle to complete and sign the Assignment of Title section on the Certificate of Title to the buyer who must then apply to the Vehicle Services Department.”
- In the first section, the date of sale needs to be mentioned followed by the vehicle year, vehicle make and vehicle identification number (VIN #). Then in the next field the name of the seller followed by the full address needs to be mentioned.
- Then, the name of the buyer along with the full address needs to be stated. After filling all the details, the seller needs to sign the document along with the date and the name and then needs to mail it to the given address.
